We needed to write to express our gratitude in the work that you do at Rottweilers Royal. Our journey with Royal’s Joki von Der Goodosier (aka Yoki; from Jule/Orso) started 12 years ago with a visit to your home and kennel looking for our next rottie; meeting you and your dogs, and getting excited for that next step and a new member of our family. What we got from Yoki was so much more, we had no idea how wonderful that puppy would be when we picked him up over 11 years ago. To say that Yoki was stable, confident, even tempered, and joyful only scratches the surface. Everything about Yoki was ‘all in’ - he was ready, and capable, of anything we asked. He trained like a dream and quickly earned a couple Rally Obedience titles, often eliciting laughs from those watching because he was SO focused and terribly excited to be doing it. His scent work ‘tell’ was also ambitious - caving in or flipping boxes that hid the target (always correctly!). We trained for fun and to have a well mannered dog, and we got both. A wonderful trail companion on countless hikes in the woods, as excited for annual rock hunting trips on Lake Superior as we were, great in a canoe, comfortable in the camper, and forever patient on long rides cross country (by my count he visited at least 33 states, Canada, and dipped paws in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans). Always ready to greet people with a spin and sit on their foot - his enjoyment of human contact was clear, and what an ambassador for the breed. We only needed to make people aware of his “rottie purr” - he was a vocal boy, stub going a mile a minute, smiling face, and growling purr. We said goodbye to our beloved Yoki a couple months ago and miss him in our live so, so much. Amy’s jogging buddy, Wyatt’s fur brother, and Kevin’s partner at the cutting board waiting for ends of carrots and cucumbers. We feel so lucky to have found Rottweilers Royal and been given such a gift. Thank you for your passion and your dogs. Especially our Yoki.
